–durlan is my surname and it titles this project which brings together all the prêt-à-porter jewels and collections.

–durlan is this creative space where art becomes part of your daily life. The jewels are born with the soul of a unique piece: handmade, escaping the conventions of ephemeral fashion and mass production.

Experimentation with unconventional materials in the world of jewellery is the main creative driver, seeking the limit and connection between jewellery and painting, between the object and two-dimensionality, art and craft, emotions and the tangible.

A great source of inspiration are the environments I habit, Barcelona and Menorca. Also visits to other cultures. The beauty of the unseen, the critical spirit, the present, and the intensity inevitably appear in my pieces.

I invite you to discover jewels with history, with character and art, so they may dress and define you.

–durlan can also be personalized. If you have an idea or want to give a special gift, I open the doors to the creative process to design, together, a jewel that captures the personality of the wearer. It is always a beautiful challenge, a discovery of new languages to find the perfect aesthetic for each person. My workshop is in the heart of Barcelona, in the inspiring Raval neighbourhood. That is where you will find me, with my hands dirty from metal dust or paint. I will always welcome you by prior appointment.

The jewels always pass through my hands, but they could not see the light without the collaboration of other technicians who intervene in parts of the process, such as casting, stone setting, plating, or engraving. Working with local suppliers and collaborators is my way of making jewellery consciously and avoiding unnecessary consumption.

I am one of those people who sees so many possibilities that, sometimes, I become paralyzed. Therefore, my tool has always been improvisation: letting myself go and, afterwards, reflecting. That is how I create. And that is how jewellery came into my life.

When I was studying graphic design, I realized that what truly passionate me was the process of giving shape to ideas and working with my hands: painting, paper, texture, calligraphy. By chance (or causality), one day I asked about an illustration course at the Massana School and it was full. - What about jewellery? -, I said. Without knowing where that question came from, it made me discover the art and this craft.

I found a place to express things I didn't even know I carried inside and met people to share it with. I have grown within contemporary jewellery collectives like Quars d'una, Joyas Sensacionales, and 7cats, with whom I have exhibited internationally. And individually, my artistic work has been recognized as a finalist for the Schmuck awards (2018), the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize (2020), and publications like the book New Earrings by Nicolás Estrada (2024).Since I finished my jewellery studies in 2012, this adventure began. And it is a constant, humble, and profound learning process. I am immensely grateful for all the journey travelled and for everyone I have met along the way. Thank you for choosing my jewels, for enjoying them, and for wearing them. That is the meaning of all this.
